Life

1979- Graduated HS, Married the former Miss Sharyl Thompson from
Crockett HS and still married, we have two children, Daughter age 22, Son age 17
1979- Attended University of Texas
1984- Graduated with degree in Biology
1985- Received Commission and appointed as a 2nd Lt in the USMC transferred to the 1st Marine Brigade Kaneohe Bay Hawaii.
1987- Promoted to the rank of 1st LT
1990- Promoted to the rank of Capt
1992- Transferred to the 7th Marine Regiment and Third Light
Armored Infantry Bn and deployed to Somalia in support of Operation
Restore Hope.
1996- Promoted to the rank of Major
1997- Transferred to Amphibious Group Two Norfolk Va and served with the Navy on multiple Mediterranean Operation.
2000- Transferred to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton CA. Deployed to the Western Pacific and the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Peleliu.
2001-Deployed to Western Pacific and the Arabian Gulf on the Amphibious Assault Ship USS Peleliu. On the 26th of Nov Participated in the Amphibious Landing of Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The 15th MEU conducted Combat Operation at Landing Force Objective Rhino in Southern Afghanistan. 2002 Finishing up Amphibious training and getting ready to redeploy back to the Arabian Gulf
in Dec of 2002 on the Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tarawa.
2003 on 6 Jan I left the West coast of the United States on the USS Tarawa and landed in northern Kuwait on the 12 of Feb 2003 with my unit the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Combat operation during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Crossed into Iraq on 23 March, our Unit seized the Port of UMM Cazar in southern Iraq. We then secured the Iraqi Naval Base north of UMM Casar, continued North and Occupied the Southern town of Al Nazaryia, On the 6th of May I returned back to our Amphibious ship and returned back to my home ports of Camp Pendleton on 12 July 2003.
2004- Transferred to Commander Third Fleet, server with the J6 Staff on the USS Coronado.
2005- Transferred to Commander Foreign Military Training Unit, Mariner Special Operations Command Camp Lejeune NC.
2006- Assigned as the Operations Officer G6 staff Marine Special Operation Command.
2008- 31 Jan I retire from the Military. Settled down in Wimberley where I am planting a vineyard, to make wine.
2008- 31 April started working for the City of Austin as a Chemist at the South Austin Region Wastewater Plant. Have to pay for the vineyard.
