Stephen's Story
After graduation I attended Mt. SAC for a year and a half. It only took me that long to destroy my GPA and with the draft breathing down my neck I joined the Air Force. After basic I went to Chanute AFB for tech training as and aircraft electrician. I then got assigned to the Sacramento Air Material Area depot and made several trips to Southeast Asia. I eventually spent 23 years in the Air Force and retired in 1988 as a Senior Master Sergeant with an AA, BS and MA. I married my wife in July of 1970, we have a daughter Stacey and son Stephen. I became a NASA Civil Servant working in the Office of the Chief Information Officer at Marshall Space Flight Center. I served at MSFC for 10 years during which I was sent to Washington DC as the NASA OCIO Business Manager. I retired in January 2014.
In 2007 I began my portrayal of Santa Claus donating most of my time to hospitals and charitable organizations. In 2009 I started decorating our house at Christmas with synchronized lights to music and it has grown every year with over 30,000 lights and 3000 computer channels supporting 30+ songs. You can search YouTube for my channel "rocketcitysanta". I am the President of Santa's Woodshop Inc. providing Santa Claus services to children throughout the Tennessee Valley.
