Stephen's Story
Life
I attended Kilgore College (Harvard on the Highway) and Mercer University in Macon, GA. I started my career with Texas Eastman and have been there for 17 years. I am currently employed there as an Operations Computer Specialist handling everything from hardware issues to process programming. I also moonlight building computers and networks for individuals and small businesses. In addition, I do some freelancing in database and spreadsheet design. I am thinking of continuing ahead and gaining an Associates in Computer Programming if I can "make a window." I married a Pine Tree girl, Sheri Keys, in 1990 and she gave me 2 wonderful sons. Caleb, who is 15 now, is the spitting image of his ol' man! (Poor kid) Sheri has had total strangers come up to her in grocery stores and take one look at Caleb, and then ask, "Are you married to Stephen Pritchett?" Nathan, my little karate man, is 11 and does have a little bit of his MOM in him, so he may be ok. I have been the president of Deep East Texas Baseball based out of Longview for 6 years now. It is a league designed to provide "select" baseball teams a way to compete on a higher level than most local organizations. We have had as many as 127 teams compete in league play in ages from 8u-18u. It has been a lab...Expand for more
or of love, as when I first started in the DETBA org, there were 26 teams! I am now venturing off into High School umpiring of baseball for the TASO Longview chapter. I will be getting the noise from fans all over East Texas now. Anyways, I have thoroughly enjoyed my lot in life so far. I turned out to be somewhat of a "chiphead" or techno-geek, but it beats diggin' holes! (My apologies if you dig holes, just not my cup o' tea). Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I am the drummer for a local band called MODERN RELICS. We are a cover band and play all kinds of gigs like the East Texas Treatment Center benefit, United Way kickoff luncheons, weddings, and Hot Rod night at the Whataburger just to name a few. Hope to see you all soon at the 20 year shabang!
School
I had a blast in High School. I know everyone doesn't feel that way about it, but hey, it's my flippin' bio! My only regret was that there were some classmates I never really got to know, even with a small class that we had in 1987. And just like I said to some close friends on graduation night, "You know, we may be looking at some of these folks for the last time." So far, and unfortunately, that is still a true statement. Hopefully, we can get everyone down for the 20 year reunion and relive some times.
