Stephen's Story
It's always been a dream to teach abroad so I made the leap in 2001. 2nd best decision of my life. The best decision is marrying the woman in the picture. Been living in Viet Nam now for the past 8 years. It feels like every day is a holiday. I'm currently an academic advisor for a language center in Ho Chi Minh City. There are over 17,000 students enrolled so we hire a lot of teachers. There are currently 94 foreign teachers on a total teaching staff of about 300. My wife, Trang (but I call her TT), and I have a little boy of 6 years. He's bi-lingual and his school is teaching kids how to speak Chinese! I'm about intermediate level Vietnamese. Tough language as it's tonal but the locals get a kick out of hearing me struggle with it.
