Sterling's Story
Life
I was born in Detroit to a young girl. I was adopted by a loving elderly couple at the age of five. I attended Grant Elementary School, and subsequently Osborn High. I always wanted to be a serviceman when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a decent idea. As it turns out, they were right. My goal was to join the (Army). A friend talked me into the Marines. I joined the U. S. Marine Corps in 1979. I intially married in 1979 to my high school sweetheart. This union produced a daughter. I was divorced a few years later. I married my current wife in late '82. I have been married to ...Expand for more
her since then. I have a second daughter. I retired from the Marines in 2006. I am living in VA, and working on a small business. Life has been pretty good to me. Jesus blesses me daily. I am currently working for the Dept of Veteran Affairs. I am in good health, I have seven grandchildren with one due in November, might even be born on the Marine Corps birthday (Nov 10, 1775). I have seen/been on four of seven continents. Been to: Japan, Mexico, Canada, Guam, Qutar, Djbouti, Eritrea, Yemen, Germany, Italy, Greece, and 43 out of 50 states. Not too bad for a guy born 3lbs. 4oz. to a teen mother.
