There isn't enough time for all the things I love to do and want to learn. I've been in High Tech for most of my life and love the excitement of whatever I know today will be obsolete tomorrow. I worked at Intel for 28 years, making it to the third level under the president. I got mad about being told to fire 2/3 of my staff in 2006 and retired. Unfortunately, I hadn't prepared very well for my retirement and I was too young to draw on my 401K. I'm now the intellectual property portfolio manager for a new high tech start-up in Camas, Washington. I live in Hillsboro, Oregon and commute 45 minutes each way which is a drag. I have a lot of hobbies, but my favorite is building unusual things. Art or architecture, it doesn't matter. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say I recently bought a sewing machine because I got tired of recruiting people to sew things for me. Based on my first project, I know professionals have nothing to fear.
