Steve's Story
After I graduated from Lee I joined the US Marine Corps. I remained on active duty for 12 years and remained in the reserves for 14 years. I was able to work with the AV8A Harrier as an Avionics tech when it first entered service in 1972. I visited the far east and spent time in NC, SC, TN, FL, CA, AZ, and VA while on active duty. I graduated from Southern Illinois University with an Aviation Management BS. In 1980 I was selected for Officers Candidate School at Quantico, VA. I spent the next 3 years of my career as an officer. In 1984 I opted to leave active duty as a 1st Lt. to begin a career in aerospace of all things. I spent 7 years with Aerojet Electrosystems in Azusa CA and worked on a spy satellite program as a test engineer. I was able to work at Kennedy Space Center for 4 years. I was there during the Challenger Event.

ould any of you have ever guessed that would have happened...
I was still a reserve officer and in 1998 I retired as a Major. I was truly honored to serve as a US Marine and its true...ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE. It is also true...Not as lean but still a Marine...
I moved to Phoenix AZ in 1991 and have remained here. While here in Phoenix I have been a manufacturing manager, car salesman, security firm manager, quality engineer, financial services representative, quality assurance manager, source quality engineer, real estate agent and then.... I reentered federal service in 2002 when there was a call to service following 9-11. I have been with the TSA and Department of Homeland Security for 8 years. I have not decided on a career when I grow up but I am still considering my options.
I have 2 boys, Stephen-25 and Justin-21. I have been married to my wife Josie for 35 years now.
