Steve's Story

Well it's time for the tri-annual update of the profile. Still in the Army Reserve and still jumping out of planes. Nothing like being in your mid 40's and hoping nothing turns to powder upon impact! It got me a paid vacation to England and France last year so I can't complain. I "had" to go and jump into Normandy for two weeks with the Brits, French and Germans during the D-Day Anniversary. Yeah, the wife loved that one. Made it through Jumpmaster School (we are in charge of the jumps/safety) on my first try this year. It doesn't sound like much but in my class 52 started, 33 graduated and of those only 8 of us were there for the first time. Most were "alumni" who had failed out previously. I learned in Iraq that all life really is is a series of small victories. The trick is to link them up. I've managed to remain stateside but..... Afkrapistan is looking likely. That would be the lottery I win! Of course it would get me out of work for a year. Not sur...Expand for more
e my partners would like that but.... The kids are turning into little people and constantly amaze me. I'm rapidly approaching my expiration date as a cool Dad. More and more they want to be with their friends, the Playground Mafia I call them. That is how it should be. I fully expect one of my sons to push me down a stairwell when I am old as pay back for the fun I put him through. My Mom was right about someday having a child just like I was. The wife is doing great and is kicking ass at her job. She's the smart one in the family but most of you reading this would agree knowing me as you do. I hope your life is turning out even better than you hoped it would. Who knew we would ever get this old? I only recognize one teacher, Mr. Bock, left from our days. Have we been gone that long. I am coming up over Christmas to visit my Mom is Oswego. If you are going to be around and need an excuse to get out of the house and consume adult beverages drop me a line.
