Steve's Story
Life
What can I say? I spent way too much time partying after graduation. I'm making up for lost time and I'm very motivated. I've been taking some continuing education courses at COM & Galveston College. I've been playing softball for 14 years and I'm still a pretty good hitter. I like to run the track at COM to stay in shape. I have tropical fish for a hobby. I really don't have the time to mess with them like I use too. I'm religous but I don't go to church very often. My excuse is I work too hard and I need Sunday to recharge the old battery. I like to watch Joel Osteen on the internet to get my spiritual uplifting. I am one of those people who thinks that God has a plan for my life and trying to recognized what he wants me too do has opened a lot of doors for me the last 3 years or so. I never guessed I would be where I am now and it's very exciting to think what the future has in store for me. I just wish I could jump up about 3 more years and be there already.
Ive always been single. My partying got in the way of any kind of relationship...Expand for more
s. I may have been attracted to the wrong kind of women. I'm dating now. I'm never lonely. But I do like my alone time. I spend a lot of time with my family. I figure at 52 I'll probably stay single. I'm use to it. Being married has a new set of problems that I would be unfamiliar with but who know what will happen; change is good. I have no children. Sometimes that makes me sad because I think I would have raised some great kids.
I'm managing a discount furniture and appliance store called Galveston Scratch & Dent. I absolutely love it. I started out there as an appliance repairman and when the manager left, I brought in a new line of living roomfurniture, mattresses and bedroom furniture. That's what landed me the job. Things are always changing and there is lots of competition. I have a 2 year plan to buy the store.
I also have a passion for Real Estate. I took the first class to get my realtors license in February. It was pretty tough to take that class in the middle of income tax season but I made it throught and I'm ready for the next one.
