Steve's Story
Lewistown and my high school years are a distant memory. With each passing year I seem to find it harder to remember the names and faces that seemed so important to me then. I never was a standout at anything, nor a memorable character. I regret never "launching out" to try my hand at various activities at school. I suppose I just lacked confidence. Confidence is something I gained later in life.
Since high school I have spent most of my life in Missouri -- St. Louis to be specific.
After a brief return to Lewistown following college of one year I found myself wandering back to the midwest.

s and IBM.
I have been married to the same woman for 33 years and raised two children (both of which are now married). Perhaps the most interesting thing about them is how both became such avid Penn State fans, even though neither one of them ever lived in Pa.
I return to Central Pennsylvania now and then and always enjoy the beauty of the area and remember the "good ol' days". My fondest memories of home include parades, hoagies, high school football games and birch beer.
I guess the thing that disappoints me the most about our former hometown is the lack of care and pride of ownership the local residents seem to exhibit. It's a shame and doesn't fill anyone visiting with any sense of pride about where they grew up.
