Steve's Story
After 16 years in St Louis I moved to Houston in 2000, and I love it here.
I've spent time working in a gene mapping lab (at Washington University), then spent 11 years making kaleidoscopes. I briefly taught high school astronomy, and now I'm working in a clinical testing lab at Baylor. I'm currently planning another career swerve, into database management.
I have a new puppy (well, at 10 months and 90 pounds, I guess I should stop calling her a puppy!) She's a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Minga, and she's sitting at my feet as I write this, looking at me...Expand for more
with love and hope--she really wants a walk!
I'm currently training for my first inline skating marathon (I've been skating for 20 years), and I hope to get it done in under two hours. Minga loves to go skating with me--she pulls me the first mile, and I pull her the second. Hopefully, when she's older she'll be able to keep up with me on longer skates.
Hurrican Ike was kind to me and my family--we were without electricity for a week or so, but no damage. What an adventure!
