Steve's Story

....This first section was written in, um, 2000? Who knows? A 2008 update follows... Well, can't believe it's been 15 years since we've graduated! Quick 15 year update: Went to UCSB after high school to study engineering. Did my Junior Year Abroad in the UK at the University of Kent, in Canterbury. Came back to the US, was bored with engineering, graduated and went to Japan -- was in school there for International Relations. Taught economics there, was a consultant at the Diet (Japan's Senate). Came back after a year and a half and went to graduate school at Harvard. Somehow wound up back in California working with Jon Power and Herb Dalgart at J.D. Power and Associates. Finished my MBA, quit J.D. Power, moved down to Orange County to start working with an Internet Start Up. I was there for two years, then the Interne...Expand for more
t space took a turn. My company was purchased by another company in a sidewalk sale and I moved on to a company internet company. January 2008: Okay, that was all written 5 years ago...I now work at Honda Research and Development, in their Advanced Product Planning Department...basically figuring out what cars and trucks Honda and Acura should build 5 to 10 years from now. It's very cool. I get to work with engineers, designers, and consumers to create car concepts and new models. I live in Orange county California. I still keep in touch with some of the class of 85 gang: Herb Dalgart, Jon Power, Donna Harris, Cindy Bevan, last name changes notwithstanding... I missed our 20th; I think I was in Japan at the time. I know I was traveling. Drop me a line. It would be great to hear from the class of '85. Cheers! Steve
