Steve Colón is the Hawaii division President for the Hunt Development Group. In this capacity, he is responsible for the firmÂs real estate development activities in Hawaii. His primary focus is on the development and management of various properties in Oahu and Kona (the Big Island). Prior to joining Hunt, he spent two years on active duty (2001 - 2003) with the Navy due to reserve recall; one year as a Plans Officer on the staff of the Commander Seventh Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan, and one year in the same capacity at the Commander U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, HI.
From 1999  2001, Mr. Colón was Vice President of Operations for Pulte International  Mexico, the Mexico division of the U.S. largest homebuilder, Pulte Homes, based out of Dallas, TX. .P. in Houston and Mexico City, Mexico, where he started the firmÂs Mexican industrial park development business. Prior to working for Hines, he was a Senior Disposition Manager with the Trammell Crow Company in Houston, TX, where he led a sales team of six real estate professionals sell off surplus Exxon retail service stations and vacant land sites. Mr. Colón also worked for the real estate investment firm Aldrich, Eastman, & Waltch as an associate from 1990  1992, and for Grubb & Ellis Company as a commercial office and industrial leasing broker from 1987  1988.
Mr. Colón holds an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1990), and a B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy (1981). He is a Captain in the Naval Reserve, and has been recalled to active duty twice, for Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. An active athlete, he has completed over 40 triathlons, including six Ironman Triathlon competitions.
