Steve's Story
Hello to any and all,
After school I stayed near the area, just working, hanging out and being fairly directionless about doing anything worthwhile with my life.
I got married about 20 years ago.
I took a management position at my company and worked in Scotland for 18 months. I lived in Bearsden, just outside of Glasgow. The job was interesting and I had a great life experience, made some lifelong friends, got to see and spend time in many European countries, but I missed living in the USA.
Upon my return, I took a corporate position in Quality Assurance as a company Director after my Scotland adventure. I then basically stayed at home and traveled only for leisure.
In this position, my company has been expanding in different global markets. So now, I have been traveling extensively to start up our Asian facilities. For the last five years or so have spent a significant amount of time in China and Southeast ...Expand for more
Asia performing corporate director duties for our start up facilities. I find the Asian culture interesting and unique to our Western culture. Made lots of new Asian friends along the way.
My company has also recently started a facility in Mexico, so time will be spent there. India and Vietnam are on our short list for new facilities, so I will be seeing and working in these areas in the near future.
As for my life at home.......just like everyone else, I guess.
I hang around, spend time with family. Go to different events, in particular sporting ones, loyal season ticket holder for the Chicago Blackhawks
I enjoy movies, reading, dining out, and traveling. See, just like everyone else!
I have to say that life has been quite OK for me. Have had and still having lots of great experiences with my career and traveling that I never imagined when in school. It is funny how things turn out sometimes.
Cheers to all,
Steve D
