Steve's Story

I have a memory that only two people can remember,so if you are reading this, only one person can recognize the person described. This is about a young woman. The first time I see her, She is standing one morning, chatting with her friends. She is wearing a green dress dotted with a pattern of small flowers with a white collar at her neck, and white cuffs at the end of her sleeves ,where two lovely hands sway along her side. ( She has a dress just like it in matching red, but the green one is cooler.) She is tanned, with athletic legs, beautiful thighs, and gorgeous calves. Then she turns her head past her left shoulder, and looks right into my eyes. I look into her eyes, and my eyes speak asking "Who Me?" She looks at me, and her eyes seem to say "Yes You!" Then some time later, I am walking down a long hallway, and I see her walking toward me. She is a brunette with brown eyes. Her eyes are happy. She wears these rectangular shaped glasses that make her look sexy to me. Then, while we pass each other, we brush the back of our hands together and I feel her soft skin and I smile. Later still, we walk past each other again, and my hand passes near hers, but this time she slaps my hand away because she is angry and impatient with me, and my face turns red, and we pass each other with only silence between us. The last time I see her, she has changed. She stands at the top of a stairs, sunning herself, and talking with a friend. She wears v...Expand for more
ery short cut-offs. She has become a beautiful woman, with all the sexiness of the college student she has become. I walk past her and then look over my shoulder and she is gone. I never see her again. But I do see her in a recurring dream that haunts me to this day. It is the only dream I can remember when I wake up, and I can't shake it, and I pray for it to go away. So, Maybe if I tell you of my dream, it will go away. So, here is my dream: I am walking alone. I am searching for something. I am searching for her. I am wandering and searching over hills and valleys for her for years. Then one day I see something . In the distance, there are people gathered at a picnic. I see husbands and wives and children all happy together, and I am envious of their happiness. Then I see her in the crowd. I walk past the others and toward her. She sees me and runs away. But I follow her into the trees where she is hiding. She turns to me and I kiss her saying, "I found my words and I have a gift". Then I say, "I love you!" And these are my words for you and this is my gift to you.. " Then the dream is over, and I wake up. These then are my dream and my memory, which are like the leaves and the wind. They are the leaves of time, and the wind of regret. The wind sweeps down and gathers the leaves from the ground, and twists them into a funnel aimed at the sky where they fly, following me forever, over the hills and across the valleys of my life.
