Steve's Story
Life
I got married in June of 1989 to a girl I met at Bill Jensen's wedding, and we've been happily together ever since. We have 5 children and I worked for a big financial firm in Minneapolis. Started my own business, fixing furniture, in 2006 but it didn't take off and we closed up in late '07.
I still live up in the old home town, Andover, but we live just south of the district line so my kids go to the Anoka schools. My eldest son will graduate in 2008. My wife is an elementary special ed teacher in the Anoka district and a former daycare provider.
We and our kids are active in Scouting, at church, in 4H, and I am still doing living history and Civil War reenactments. I recently got back into drama by trying out for a play at Lyric Arts t...Expand for more

College
Attended the University of Minnesota from 1983-1987, and then from 1989-90. Major History, minor Political Science, I was active in Student Government and in my fraternity.
Workplace
I worked for the same company for fourteen years, in a number of different positions, then was laid off in late 2005. There were some advantages to seniority - the severance package allowed me to start my own furniture repair and restoration business. For awhile I was my own boss, and I liked it that way, but the business just didn't take off and we ran out of money to pour into it, so we've closed down and I'm currently (Apr 08) back to work at the old employer.
