Steve's Story
Howdy! I am now living in Laramie, Wyoming, where my family homesteaded in 1880. My wife and I have 3 grown kids - a son, two daughters, and two granddaughters. Yes, I'm still taking pictures, professionally (mostly scenic photos,) which you can see at WesternPhotography.com.- I also have had some industrial photo jobs the last few years, photographing the construction of a refineries and such. My main business is optical (glasses and sunglasses). We have probably one of the best selections of sunglasses in the "known universe"! I'm working on getting totally into photography - have done the rockies, the alps, Jordan, Israel, and other great places. No, I'm not doing much in ham radio these days. I still use my German a lot, am quite fluent, and have been to the German speaking countries six times now, and to the British Isles three times. (Another hobby of ours is finding bargain fares and staying at ...Expand for more
youth hostels and bed & breakfasts!) We went to Jordan for our church in fall '05, to kick off a charitable project at the request of the royal family, and met the prince of Jordan. If you saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with Sean Connery, you might recognize that temple carved out of the cliff behind me in the picture - it's at Petra, Jordan's #1 tourist attraction.
I spent 2 years at CU and then transferred to Ambassador College in Big Sandy, Texas, where I received a BA in theology, with LOTS of German and some business.
I enjoy gardening, hiking, climbing fourteeners and any high rock or mountain, and biking, and am still thin (although I've gained 70 pounds since I graduated.) You probably remember me as being short, too. Now I'm 6'2". (Late bloomer!) And - my nickname collection now has over 50 nicknames. The latest one is "Rambo." If you know me, send me an e-mail!
Best wishes,
"Grubby"
