Steve's Story

Wow, what to say. As most of you know after leaving High School in Nebraska I went into the Air Force in Wyoming where I worked on ICBM missiles. Enjoyed the work but hated the long long hours, the extreme cold and being owned by the military. It was a great experience though and it's something I think everyone should do. During my stint in the military I got married and had two children. Devin is now 18 and Jordan is 17. Unfortunately it was a very bad divorce with me ending up back in California and her staying in Wyoming. Then when my oldest son was 3 I let his mom take him home for mothers day and never saw him again. They were both taken to England for 6 years with her new husband in the military. This is really something I don't like to talk about but it's part of my life and therefore I have included it. Although it's a much longer story of course I will just let it go at that for now. In your life there is that one thing you wish you could do all over again and this is by far the one thing. I moved back to California as mentioned above and worked in a few places to get re-established here. I worked at a credit reporting agency which got me started in the finance field. I then went on to work at an auto lender here in California for about 5 years before we lost our jobs due to the company moving to Denver. I had been dating my 2nd (yes 2nd) wife and we were married for 3 years before breaking it off. We found we were both just going in different directions. She started to want children and of course that is not something I was looking for after my past experience. We parted as friends although we don't really talk any more since she has a new family and again was going in a different direction. Next I got my new job with Hewlett Packard and have been here for 9 years. I work with a team provid...Expand for more
ing services to the Federal government. Consulting and Integration services mostly. At this point I met my youngest sons mother and we dated for about 3 years before we finally broke up. We had Diego in 2000 and he is the love of my life. His mom and I are still good friends and I get to spend tons of time with him since I work from home. He is the sweetest, most loving son you could ever ask for. He is always thinking of others and is honestly the best thing that has ever happened in my life. So what am I doing now? I bought my first home here in Roseville, CA about 6 years ago. I work on mechanical stuff in my garage like building motorcycles to put in shows or just to enjoy riding. My Harley VRod was in the Easyrider show here in Sacramento which was really excitiing. I love to tinker in the garage since the rest of my days are pretty much sitting at my laptop. I'm coaching Diego's basketball team this season so that should be fun too. He was MVP of his team last season and hopefully he won't be as vertically challenged as his dad. I also have a girlfriend for the last 3 years which is kinda scary since it seems like all the other women in my life are on the 3 year plan. I'm kinda like a lease with option to buy. haha Anyway, her name is Kimberly and she's a wonderful woman and a god send for me and Diego. We met working at HP so that's kind of a bonus. We are only a month apart in age with me being the older one. Yeah, so for one month out of the year I get to hear nothing but the old man jokes. So for right now I consider myself a pretty lucky and happy man. Except for these gas prices and the housing market slump everything else is pretty good for me. There are so many details I'm sure I left out but it's a good start. Hope you enjoy reading and I'll try to post some pics soon.
