Life After H.S. graduation, I knocked around for a while; taking a few classes at the U of A, etc. Crhistmast eve 1995 I received my "invitation" from the draft board. I opted to join the Navy. On February 14th, 1966 I left for boot camp. My first duty station following boot camp was Beeville, Texas. I had no rating so I was assigned to a squadron to clean and prep the jets before and after take off. I managed to get a position in the dental clinic and, after about 8 months, I went to Dental Tech school in San Diego. From that school, I was stationed on the Constellation and stayed there from 1967 until 1969. I transferred from the carrier to a small, incountry river assault base called Nha Be; about 16 miles south west of Saigon. Arrived in Nha Be in 1969 and left in 1970. Worked in the dispensary for the first six months and then travelled around the country with a dentist as the "mobile dental team." I grew up during that time and learned a lot about myself.
