Steve's Story
I have been living with my wife in Ormond Beach, FL for the past ten years. Just before that, in Houston for a couple of years, and then before that for many years in New Port Richey. Only one of three kids left in the nest ( which I experience a wide range of emotions about, ranging from times of pure joy, to times of real sadness).
My life has been going along pretty well so far. We have sold our Dream house that we shouldn't have, bought another house that we shouldn't have that we're in right now, and made some other dumb decisions along the way, but we are still doing ok.
I have spent most of my career in environmental testing and cleanup, mostly here in Florida, after getting my chemistry degree from FSU. A couple of cool projects I have been involved with are the Everglades Restoration Program, and cleanup of the launch pads at Kennedy Space Center. Of course, plenty of unglamorous projects along the way too.
I also run a part time landscape design and installation company with my son (sometimes that's a real test!). In fact, last year, my company. Green Earth Lawn and Landscape, Inc., installed all of the landscaping at t...Expand for more
he new Dunedin Library Reading Garden. Go check it out sometime. I am really proud of the design (have to give my architect sister some credit here too!)
I am still definitely a kid at heart. Every once in awhile I still pull out my Kiss CDs and blast them, and I still crank up KC and the Sunshine Band's songs! I have also gotten back into building scale models, and model railroading. Like I said, seriously still a kid! I love having fun!!
Believe it or not, my parents still live in the old house that I grew up in on Wood Street in Dunedin, and I go visit them every few weeks, helping out with chores around the house.
I would like to think that the years have made me more kind-hearted towards others, more patient, and just a better person overall.
Not sure what life holds for me in the future. We like to travel, and have been bitten by the cruising bug (Please try a cruise if you haven't...it took me almost 20 years of my wife's pleading to get me to go....now, I love it!). We really like to camp, and I hope to get a travel trailer someday.
I guess that's a pretty good little summary of my life so far. Take care everyone, Steve.
