Life

I got married right out of engineering school in 1972, then lived near Akron Ohio for a year before moving to Boulder, Colorado, where I've lived for the last 40+ years. Divorced in 94, remarried to Willa in 96. 4 granddaughters now, and all live fairly close by.
Started my engineering own practice in 77, and since then have done projects all over the world, but with the vast majority close to home. I enjoy what I'm doing and have won a couple of awards for engineering. At one point I had several employees, but gradually found that I enjoy engineering more when it is just me to worry about, so I've been a one man practice since 1995.

e. I took almost every Italian course at CU, and am fairly fluent now, with a number of Italian friends. It's a lot more fun to visit a country when you speak the language. I still meet with a tutor every week.
Hobbies - I love to telemark ski in deep Colorado powder. I flyfish, tie my own flies. I bow hunt - I find practicing is very contemplative and relaxing. I've become quite a good cook; when friends come over the request is usually that I cook one of the meals they've had before. I try to stay in shape and fight my paunch. I lift weights, walk or hike a lot.
Friends have become more important over the years. I meet with some almost every day for coffee. When I got married to Willa, one of her friends commented that I was the only man she knew who saw his friends every day.
