Steve's Story
Life
After our graduation in '61 I attended Palomar and then went into the Air Force in '63. I retired in '91 and worked as a Probation Officer until retiring again(final I hope) in '06. I have two daughters and one grand daughter. Leighanne lives in Tucson and is a school teacher. Tina and grand daughter Ava live in San Antonio and she manages an Italian restaurant. My favorite hobby is trout fishing. I have two dogs and two cats (all adopted). While working as a P.O. I was the department's representative to and co-chair of the Animal Cruelty Taskforce Of Southern Arizona. I was asked to remain on the Taskforce after my retirement. We investigate and prosecute animal cruelty cases, instruct police officers/detectives on how to investigate those cases, and educate the public on how to recognize and report incidents. It's very rewarding as we all know of the link between animal and hum...Expand for more
an violence. Keeps me busy.
School
I attended EHS from 1958 to 1961. My biggest "crush" was two years behind me. I'm not going to give up her name but I'd be surprised if she doesn't know who she is.I think my most inspirational teacher was Coach "Chick" Embrey.
Workplace
After retiring from the Air Force, I worked as a Probation Officer with Pima County Adult Probation in Tucson, Az. Somewhat similar to being a First Sergeant except I was dealing with felons! I retired from there January 27, 2006.I plan on staying retired this time.
Military
After attending Palomar JC, I enlisted in the Air Force February 5, 1963 and retired March 1, 1991 as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). I spent 16 years working in logistics and was a First Sergeant for 12 years. I was stationed at several bases in the U.S. and in Korea, Viet Nam, Thailand, Germany, and England. It was a great career.
