I am now a light rail train operator with Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT). After high school I attended college for one and a half years, then ran away to play rock and roll. I had minor success, but it sure was fun and it paid the bills, mostly. While living in Los Angeles, I played with a band called Rhythm Heritage. My first gig with them was American Bandstand. We also appeared on Midnight Special. Man, I wish I could find those videos to show to the grandkids... We played at Disneyland and also some Six Flags parks. During that time in L.A. my first marriage was in trouble, largely because of money problems and because my wife missed her home of Sacramento. That marriage did not last. At first I took a factory job making toner for copiers. It was a lousy and dirty job, but $3 per hour was a (barely) livable wage then, so I was happy.
