Steve's Story

Left the '68 Swifton Burnings and National Guard and Riots after MLK was assinated to go to UC where from 1968 to 1972 there was total chaos. The first draft, Kent State, SDS, etc and we were all big time hippies. My 2nd year ended 2 months early due to Kent State. Had a kid in 1970, She is 41, and married a classmate from Woodard. Currently sepparated but still married to her. 2 Grandchildren, way too old. Did pre-med at UC and then Medical School there, and then 3 years of residency at Childrens Hospital and have practiced Pediatrics for 33 years in Sharonville and Liberty Township. Interests are too many, Fantasy Baseball 3 teams, Clay Shooting, Own many Shotguns, Handguns and a nice AR, Always the collector, have a huge BB Card collection and am posting to a website, Sold off the real expensive cards (some up to $6000 for a card) as I was worried about the number of Rich people buying them, Am # 4,000 out of 20 M people in all time Angry Birds rankings (one of my greatest achievments), and have 3 Gordon Setters who have very famous moms and dads (2 have been to Westminster as BOB on TV, and the mom of 2 was #1 Femaile in the country for years. I've been to many shows, Nationals and Midwest Specialties and am friends with the big breeders and handlers and owners. My newest "puppy" Tanner, has all his litter mates winning everything and they should do very well in the years to come. Schroeder JHS and Woodward were survival training only for me. I screwed around and never did much serious studying and with world events it was very distracting. Never remember being popular, never cared really, but many "Popular People" talked with me alot. Remember most, Tony Kisker (so pretty and always got the most pop guys but we always talked about everything), Sharon McCreary was always a good friend back to the Schroder days, Roger Campbelll was always somebody I respected alot. I hung with Robert Gutchar (he was pop and I wasn't), Robin Sawyer, Marcia Sawyer, Becky Summers at Shroder, Linda Rush, Linda Liebschutz (we used to talk for hours at night on the phone about who knows what). Some people I thought of as cool then now appear much differently to me and in general I think I was ahead in realizing high school was just a big joke and I treated it like that. I've traveled all over the world- and I mean all over- Antarctica, Galapagous Islands, Napal, India, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, All over South America, Falkland Islands, Scandinavia and Europe many many times, Russia, and many other places. I was fortunate in my late 30's and early 40's to work part time and we just traveled as much as possible. Mostly stay in US these days and work is at a peak for me compared to years past. Lastly, an Abortion Clinic moved next to my Sharonville Ped office 18 months ago. That night I took my name down from the sign we shared with that building. In the next 24 hours I developed a plan which is in effect to this day. I gave 3 of our rooms to a Pregnancy Center for "Interventional Counselling" and Ultrasound of mothers contemplating abortion to make sure they saw their babies and listened to other options. I worked with Catholic and Protestant Churches to get volunteers who work on my property, close to Haskell's front door, to persuade women to come in and get exposed to other options. I am working with Frost, Todd and Brown to maintain complicated property rights for property I own around the clinic to get Pro Life people to be there. 40 Days of Life are there for the 2nd time now. I worked with the Mayor of Sharonville, a good friend, to research the Abortionist over many months and send a letter to the Ohio Health Department stating why this clinic should not be granted a "variance" which was needed for un met regulations to keep performing abortions. I met with Governor Kasich privately to try and convince him to deal with the OHD, the director of which he appointed, and who allowed this Sharonville Clinic to exist. ...Expand for more
With the mayor, we helped start legislation in Columbus, with State Senators and Congressmen which would improve inspections, and would eventually provide monitoring of abortionists to make sure they were in compliance with bills or laws. Our goal was to eventually have proof of gestation before abortion and penalties for Abortionists who broke laws, including Prison. I have met many wonderful people through all of this last 18 months but I've come to understand Politics much better. Any politician, Senator, Governor (and probably higher) will tell you anything to your face, looking you right in the eye, and it is usually a complete lie. A politician is interested in only re-election and will hardly ever take a real stand on any issue, or be exposed for any real belief. In Ohio, they all run around saying they are Pro Life (the new administration) and they pass bills which are useless. They are useless because their is no penalty or monitoring or punishment for those not following the bill. But the politician getst their picture on the internet or somewhere for the bill. But asked to make a simple phone call to an appointee of an agency, as the Governor was asked to do to his appointee at the OHD, to ask that the variances be discontinued and the clinic then closed, well the Governor never made that call and 2500 babies still are dying each year less than 50 ft from my door. I've been on WLW and WKRC shows on this topic but its very interesting that newspapers refuse to do any story on the situation due to an unwillingness to take on the subject. I'd also add that I worked with Mercy Hospitals to revoke Haskell's privielges which partially allowed him to continue aborting, even though every statement of mission by Mercy Hosptial and Catholic Health Services which own them, says they are very against abortion. Mercy refused any action for months and finally changed (not revoked) the staff privileges when the renewal date came. I was actually called on my private cell phone by the CEO of 7 Mercy Hospitals and after my 3rd question to him, he hung up on me. This is a CEO of 7 hospitals. As of now, we have built and paid for a new driveway, which bypasses the clinic, and allows our parents and kids to avoid the place. We have built a new sign on Route 42 (Lebanon Road) and have put up barriers in the old driveway entrance. We have continued to do the work inside our building in conjuction with the volunteers outside and have saved many babies. We have had parents send in pictures of their kids after birth and call and express gratitude for helping them avoid abortion at at time when stress was guiding them a different way. My life's greatest accomplishment will be the saving of these babies. Pediatricians do make kids feel better from simple illnesses and diagnose serious disease at times and prevent disease with Vaccines, BUT RARELY DOES A PEDIATRICIAN GET THE CHANCE TO DIRECTLY SAVE A BABY AND KNOW THAT THAT BABY WILL GROW UP ONLY BECAUSE OF EFFORTS PERFORMED IN A PEDIATRIC OFFICE. I don't care if you are prolife or pro choice, who would want their pediatrician to be in favor of killing babies? And the mom's undergoing those abortions are never given any options of other possibilites. We even offer financial aide to those needing it for post natal care. But a mother contemplating abortion at least should see her baby on ultrasound. It makes such a difference. When the abortions are done across the way, ultrasound screens are covered so mom's can't even see their babies as the clinic fears they will loose money if mom should see the baby and change their mind. I could go on and on but I will end by saying I'll keep doing God's work and try and save as many babies as I can. I know God put that clinic (one of 2 in Cincinnati) so near my front door because I would be the one to finally end the death. I will never give up until these kids get to live- when it is decided they should die, they do not get a vote.
