Steve's Story
Life
Post High-School, I went to the U of SC to study computer Science and basically dropped out after two years. It seems that my normal method of "half-listen in class, BS my way through papers, and wing it on multiple choice tests didn't pan out too well in a college curriculum. (well, I was still able to BS the papers...) Alas. I decided to do in life what I did in High School...whatever was easiest for me, which was music. 6 nights a week for two years I played with a band called "Good Intentions" at a club near the airport which at that time was called "Skip's Cabaret." It was a fun time, made good cash, blew it on good....um...recreation, and just basically lived the typical "I'll never die" lifestyle.

nfortunately, all good things come to an end, and the club got sold to a guy that already had a band. Our band broke up, and I went back to USC, this time with my intellectual guns blazing and finished a degree in Music Education.
I'd managed to acquire some pretty bad habits while playing my role as a wannabe rock star, and they didn't mesh well with being a public school teacher (even in music!) so what I ended up doing was becoming a Navy Musician. And to this day, that's who I am. I've got 14 years in, and though the job, like any, has its share of BS to it, it's usually a pretty good gig.
Current location: Casal di Principe, Italy, playing with the US Navy SIXTH Fleet Band. (Near Naples)
Ciao,
Steve
