Steve's Story

let see where to start. Well went to the usual college route, went to moorpark college the transferred to Cal Lutheran. studied liberal arts and did really have a job idea after college. i just wanted to have fun. vegas trips, boat trips, parties, sporting events, camping, drinking nights, and so on. As far as serious relationships go had one when i was in my early 20's but nothing came of it and took a break to have a good time. realized that i better do something with my life so i went back to school in the 90's and got a teaching credential and then i am currently working on an administrative credential. going over the jobs that i have had through the years can be like a marathon. I high school, the summer before my senior year, i worked at Taco Bell. The one on LA Ave, the smell of the food i could never get rid of. I would shower as many times as possible, but it would drive me nuts. Had a blast with the people that worked there. It was just a job to fill the summer and i have not been to any taco bell since that summer of 1987. Then i moved on to working at penguins frozen yogurt, stayed there for about a year and half. The owners sold the store and i wanted to move on to something else. I then moved on to Kmart on tierra rejada. that was interesting because when i first started there, you were paid in cash with the taxes already taken out. Later on they went to checks. Did that through college, then went on to working for some people across the street. they were like a self help group to organize your life and i would pack up things for them during the week. The paid me about ten bucks and hour which was good in the early 90's. Then i went on to work for the park district as the after school clubs and did the summer camp thing. That was for about four or five years. During that time I also did substitute teaching in three districts, Conejo, Simi, and Moorpark. I subbed for Mr. Kemp for Drivers Ed. regularly. Three hours for periods 1,2 and 3. The class was easy, just take attendance, the office handled the video portion and then leave the campus at 11:30. I also did P.E. quite a bit at different schools. I had about two to three jobs a week, going to T.O. or even moorpark. I had a long term sub position in Moorpark for about two months til xmas break. I also would do focus groups where the company has a product and you give your opinion. I covered beer, movies, tv shows, tea, juic...Expand for more
e, sport drinks, etc. The beer one was the best one because i got to drink beer everyday at 5:30. Then we gave our opinion of the beer that we tasted. It wasn't much to shake a stick at, just a couple of sips. Still i got 300 dollars for doing it. I haven't got called in a long time but maybe i'll have one this summer. I only do the jobs that are about 50 bucks or more. Another job that i did for about two to three years was being an extra on tv shows. It was easy work for about 80 bucks. I was on 90210 for a day. That was weird to be on a show that i once watched. The sets are really small. I was also on ER, Jack and Jill, X Files, Cheers, Gilmore Girls, and a few movies. On the movie sets you are treated more like a moving herd. I did get to see Halle Berry up close in Dorothy Dandridge. That was cool. I don't do it anymore. It was just for fun and extra cash in the summer. I also worked at a computer printer store where i was the driver. That was an easy job. Nine to Six daily, plus i got paid every week. The killer thing was the gas miles and bills that i rack up. They paid my gas, but i was just there for a year and half. Wait a minute i forgot the music store that i worked at for a year in the mid 90's. I worked at blockbuster music on sycamore drive where the building is empty now. That was the best time, although i messed up on the money handling sometimes, but i went to every concert on the sun. I went to white zombie, korn, green day, the HORDE festival: saw Ziggy Marley, quicksand, and many more. I went to see gavin rossdale and bush, i saw beter than ezra, New order, public image limited and many others i can't remember. I saw summer sanitarium with metallica, korn, kid rock and powerman 5000. That was a riot of a concert. Fights in the stands and ladies going topless everywhere. It got so bad that my wife and i started rating them on scale of one ot ten. The one thing that i have tried to do is stay with current music and old music too. I am always on the look out for a new band to listen to that no one has discovered yet. O h wait yes go a few tattoos when i was younger, one of a scorpion for i am s scorpio, and one for a sun symbol. I am currently working on another one with my kids handprints. Well i think that is about the gambit of the jobs or job titles that i have had in the past and thinsg that i have done If i think of anything else i will throw it on here.
