Steve's Story
Life
I live and work in the Bay Area with my wife Suzanne
and my 2 daughters, Violet and Tansy(Tanzenite)
[Suzanne's an artist from Memphis with a mauve flair,
- So the kids got grape tinged names to match my wife's purple hair.
Artists - never boring, though you might wish sometimes]
I worked through school at UC Berkeley,
and received a bachelors degree in device physics,
and a lotta work in electrical engineering
when I realized that applied engineering
was more fun than pure theory.
After Berkeley, went off to see the world.
I worked as an engineer for about 5 years
and then needed some creative outlet.
I tried my hand at prospecting for gold in
the Sierras and deserts, and then a stint on a game show for 5 episodes (Did he get rich? answer: NO, I found more bears than gold.
After you've been swept downriver in freezing cold water
a few times or just avoided stepping on a rattlesnake,
a cubicle looks very inviting. Except during reviews).

d into Sales, and have been selling electronics, widgets, IT service, real estate and new technologies ever since. Wild ups and downs during the late 80's and 90's
in Silicon Valley.
Since then I've worked at a number of startup tech companies
(Summary: more bears than gold, some fool's gold)
and have learned to pace my life around my family,
with 2 hyperactive daughters and my wife the Artist.
Nowadays, it's more fun to be on the ground
with my family and travel in style
- a Minivan full of cracker crumbs and a zillion kid's toys. Although as the girls get to be teens those trips overseas for extended time look better...
Later the travel thing might be fun again when the kids are grown
but for now I'm happy to be where I'm at. Our ambition is wait until the kids are in college and then head off to travel the world -- without the minivan or the cracker crumbs.
The zillion kid's toys will be their graduation present.
