Steve's Story
I majored in Biology at USC. But shortly after graduation, became interested in computers. After taking several years of post-graduate programming classes, I spent the next 15 years in software development (real time C/Unix).
During the 80s, I recorded several rock albums with my brother. Our songs were heard in L.A. on KROQ's "Rodney on the ROQ," KLOS's "Best of the Local Licks," as well as on college radio, and in Australia and Canada. In the late '90s, we had a #1 hit on MP3.com, and were featured on MP3.com's "Best 103 Songs" album--with a release of 500,000 CDs. Two of our songs were used by VH1's "Fashion Television," and one was featured in the film, "Valet Girls." We were also profiled in "The Complete Idiot's Guide to MP3," as well as having a song on the book's companion CD.
Many of the past recordings can be heard here:

urnalistic and fiction writing. I've written journalistically for such publications as Wired, Rolling Stone, the L.A. Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles magazine, and the S.F. Weekly. I've also had fiction published in various literary journals, and was a script writer for a dot-com entertainment site that was featured in both Time and Newsweek. I've written extensively about the tech world for various Silicon Valley companies, mainly Sun Microsystems and Oracle, and am co-author of "The Shroud," a science-adventure novel in the vein of Carl Sagan's "Contact". I have a new 2023 collection of short stories out, "St. James Infirmary," on Roadside Press, Some take place in Palos Verdes and the South Bay.:
