Steve's Story
Well, where should I start?
It will be hard to squeeze 35+ years into such a small space, but here goes. I guess I will start with leaving Ohio in 1976 to join the Army -- I guess that would be the best place to begin my life journey. Joining the Army was probably the best thing I could have done. Honorably discharge in 1979. Went to college on the GI bill. Became a college instructor, where I worked for almost 5 years in the Computer Sciences division. Worked for a large software company in the Seattle area for 14 years (where I have lived since 1978). I truly love it here. Snow covered mountains, beautiful water, trees and so much more. I took off for about a year in the late 90Âs to play with my horses, which I have since sold.
I have traveled and skydived around the world, many points south of the equator. I pierced my ear (left one) in a right of passage for going south of the equator. I also spent time several hundred miles north of the Arctic Circle while I was in the service. I prefer the warm, sunny south.
I was a skydive stuntman / cameraman for many years (now retired) and have over 1200 jumps. I have been published several times and I am also a semi-professional photographer (everyone in Seattle that owns a c...Expand for more
amera is a photographer!) now with some photographs showing up several places on the Web.
I have 3 boys that have grown up and graduated from high school and trade schools. I have 5 beautiful grand kids; 3 boys and 2 girls. I am working back in the computer industry again and have worked almost 30 years now. I love my work and would not change anything about the path I finally ended up taking.
I am remarried again (for over 10 years now) and things are good. I was diagnosed with MS a few years back. It sucks most days, but I try not to let it slow me down too much. I don't drink and don't smoke cigarettes - grins. I still wear the same size pants that I wore in high school 32 X 36. Still have most of my hair - and still try to have fun and enjoy life with a little mis-adventure.
I love going to the mountains and have been at Mt. St. Helens on several occasions when it was actually erupting. It was very cool to see Mother Nature's power. A totally awesome sight to experience. I am lucky I am still alive. I'm sure that I have used most of my 9 lives. Other than that, I have lived a pretty normal, low-keyed, boring life here in the Pacific Northwest.
If you read down this far, please tell everyone in Ohio hello for me.
