Steve's Story
Gosh. I haven't been on this site in years.
I occasionally check the MHS site, but it seems most everyone is on Facebook which I am not and not ever likely to be.
To update a bit.
I retired from the NM attorney general's office in 2010 and have really enjoyed the free time to read and tinker with my small, modest collection of antique cars. I took up acting in community theater in 2009 and have been in numerous local productions including, believe it or not, our junior class play -
The Man Who Came to Dinner. That was a hoot! I've also done a wee bit of movie and TV work as an extra and a featured extra. I am told you can see the back of my head in a couple of episodes of Breaking Bad although I've never actually watched the program.
Denise (Hale '72) and I have been married for forty-one years. Our daughter, Tovah, is married and living in the NYC area. She and her husband are both teaching drama and related subjects at NYU. She is blessed with good health, a devoted husband, a darling son, and is expecting another baby soon.
I've had yet another heart attack last ...Expand for more
year. That makes 6! (Take that, Dick Cheney), but I have been in better health here of late.
We've enjoyed Albuquerque these nearly 25 years and, of course, New Mexico with its stark beauty and filthy politics is an interesting place to live.
I have fond memories of Tulsa, Memorial and KAKC. I can't say the same for our 17 years in Altus where I served as district attorney for a time. It's really a miserable, god-forsaken place and it was a pleasant change to move here.
I don't have contact with many from MHS, but I always enjoying hearing from classmates.
I did have a lovely breakfast last weekend in San Francisco with John Bolin and his partner Tim. I try to see them every summer when I am there for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival.
Oh, as a footnote, you may remember Fred Harris who was one of our U S Senators back in the 60s. Well, I ran into him recently at a fund raiser and we chatted and reminisced about old time Okla. politics. It was great fun to be sure.
Now that I'm here again, I'd love to hear from any of you.
