So, the day after graduation I went to work full time at Western Auto where had been working part-time since 9th grade. 4yrs later, I got married, for the first time, and left Western Auto to work for Sorensen Sports as a sales manager and ski technician. As it turned out, I was the only certified and bonded snow ski tech for the next 16 years. I stayed with Sorensen¿s for 19years, bringing bicycles into the mix in 1980 and establishing the best and most successful bicycle shop in the area. In 1997 we decided to close the shop and I ended up taking a position with the Port Angeles School District as an entry level Information Technology Service Technician with classmate Dan Myers as my immediate supervisor and mentor (the most enjoyable person I¿ve ever worked for!). 7 months later, Dan left to work at the Hospital and I ended up the lead tech for the district. Six years later, I had worked my way up to Director of Information Services. In 2004 I applied for an opening at Peninsula College for a Director of Information Technology Services (DITS) and ended up being the successful candidate.
