Steven's Story

Life I have been a Lutheran pastor since 1991. Never dreamed I would go this direction, but I have absolutely loved the work that I do. I recently moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to live with my new bride, Liz. I still have lots of interest in music, and just finished recording my first album! Yay! God is good! School As any of my friends could tell you, I was heavily involved with band in High School. I think during my senior year I spent at least four periods a day in the band room. It was something I really missed after graduation -- not just the musical aspects, but the social ones as well. Those were wonderful years. But then again, so are these! I don't play my trombone much these days, but I just can't seem to let go of it. It will always be a part of my life. College I continued my musical pursuits in college. My degree program was Music Education, but what I really wanted to do was play profess...Expand for more
ionally for a living. I did some professional work while at IPFW, playing in the John Branam band and doing studio work with Barry LaBov (with whom I later worked full-time). I had visions of moving to Los Angeles and trying to break into the studios there. Don't know if that would have happened. Along the way my life got redirected. No regrets. I love my life. Still and all, I remember college and my college friends very fondly. Workplace As a Lutheran pastor, I enjoy teaching, preaching, administering Sacraments, leading worship and ministering to people who are hospitalized or shut-in at home. I also get to meet new people and share with them God's great love for us through His Son Jesus Christ. A lot of people think religion is about a bunch of do's and dont's, or about working hard for God. It's really about being loved by God and served by Him. It's a beautiful thing, and I enjoying sharing that.
