My second is Lewis, who is 19 and is in the AirForce stationed in Las Vegas. My baby is Leslie and she 17, she is a Senior at Pasco High School in Pasco, WA.
My Job
I work in a Nuclear Power Plant for Energy Northwest. We make electricity. I work in the Coatings & Labeling Department. I am an Industrial Coatings Specialist. I am a member of the Nuclear Utilities Coatings Council, a member of ASTM D33 committee, and a member of SSPC. I do the work order planning for my department and schedule the daily work that needs to get done. Some of the special coatings we use are products designed to encapsulate contamination or radioactive particles, so that it can be removed, which will allow others to enter the area without wearing protective suits. I can paint almost anything.
Another aspect of my job is that I do all of the Nuclear Plant Labeling. I engrave equipment Valve Tags, lighted annunciator windows on Equipment Control Panels, switch and pushbutton identification plates, e...Expand for more
tc.. I also make signs by using a computer and plotter. I design what the sign should look like by first using the computer, and then the plotter will cut out the vinyl words or graphics that I will put on the signs or billboards. I started working as an accounting clerk for Washington Public Power Supply System 25 years ago. When W.P.P.S.S. defaulted on their Bonds I transfered to Eastern Washington working for the company as a laborer. Later on I went through an apprenticeship program through the company and became certified to do Nuclear Service Level 1 coatings or painting. My company since has changed their image and hence changed the company name to Energy Northwest.
My wife and I love to travel, now that our kids are old enough to stay at home alone! Yahoo!
In the last six years we have been to Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, Nevada, Oregon, Nebraska, Utah, Louisiana. Some of the places I have visited in the past were: Denmark, Italy, Jordan, Israel, Mexico and Bolivia. I thank God for what we have here in the United States.
