Steven's Story
Life
I spent about 9 years in the Submarine Service, then worked in diagnostic ultrasound, retinal displays, microwave integrated circuits, lasers, tunable thin-film optical filters, and LEDs before landing in the position I now find myself in as a Principal Systems Engineer for Raytheon. My responsibility in this position is weapon system mission assurance. Most importantly though, I am a member of, and enthusiastic participant in, my local Presbyterian church. Generally, I am a very different (hopefully & gratefully) person than I remember being as an adolescent. In fact, if you ever recall being wronged in some way by me, please drop me a line and give me the opportunity to apologize without excuse. By God's good grace I am not the same as I once was. My soul has been healed by the Lord and I'd like to pass that healing on if I can by apologizing to whomever I've hurt.
School
If I could do it all over again, I would certainly choose to consistently attend instead of consistently cutting. From my current perspective, it would have been much more fun to learn something useful than to have been the general nuisance that I was.
College
I attended college full-time at Bellevue Community C...Expand for more
ollege and then the University of Washington in Bellevue and Seattle respectively while working full-time as well. All I can now remember was being exhausted for about 6 or so years ;)
Workplace
US Navy for about 9 years, submarine sailor, commissioning crew on the USS Michigan SSBN 727(G). Worked as an electronics technician at Quantum Medical Systems doing diagnostic ultrasound until well after they were acquired by Siemens, and during much of my college education. Moved to the University of Washington, Human Interface Technology Lab as a staff member for a couple years. I then moved to the Northeast to be nearer my extended family (aunts, cousins, etc.) where I've since worked at Hittite Microwave (briefly), Lasertron, Aegis Semiconductor, Luminus Devices, and ultimately on to Raytheon, where I now am.
