you never know how much you miss old friends until you move miles away from them
best of luck to all of them

ONE OF MY POEMS
AN ANGEL HAD HEALED
A ANGEL WITH A BROKEN WING
WAS STRANDED HER ON EARTH
HAD LOST HER WILL TO SING
WANTS TO RETURN TO HER PLACE
OF BIRTH
THE ANGEL STOOD NEAR MY BED
STOOD LOOKING INTO MY EYES
THUS REMOVED ALL PAIN FROM
MY HEAD
SILKEN FINGERS ALONG MY FACE
SOFT LIPS WERE PRESSED TO MINE
THE ANGEL LEFT WITHOUT A TRACE
HER SINGING VOICE SAID ALL IS FINE

when i was eight years old i went to bloomer grade school. i lived on 703 south sixth street. three things happened that i still remember as a kid. i went into our bathroom to wash my hair for the first time by myself .
insdtead of using what i thought was shampoo, it turned to be pine...Expand for more
scvenyed germ trol made by the stanley
company. my hair was nice and clean and got rid of any germs that might have been on my hair. my hair smelledf like pine oil , because that is what was in the bottle . i had to grow something for show and tell at school in my second grade class . so i took a potatoe that had starts growing on it , and planted it outside with a stick by it marking where i planted it.
when it got big enough , i went out to dig it up to put in a box to take to school , but my brother ran over it with a lawnmower justs leaving a stub, and the roots . so that is what i took for show and tell . it did have small potatoes growing on it anyway.
the other thing that happened is just before school let out for the day a hail storm hit council bluffs. i was supposed to go to my grandmas house .i
remember ducking in doorways and under trees. but i still received bumps on my head from the hail stones,
my grandmother lived at twenty second and avenue e. bloomer school was on south seventh street .
but i made it okay just the same .i remember seeing windows from houses broken, and windsheilds on cars damaged
not knowing what happened to him one of my best friends was boyd sullivan.
although he was crippled and wore braces he still got around quite well.
one of the girls in my second grade class was marsha bingham , i had a crush on her , but i was only eight years old at the time. later years i also went to jefferson high school
with her . she was still just as pretty as she was in second grade at bloomer.
i don't know what happened to any of the classmates from amelia bloomer grade school. if any of them see and read this , i hope they will add a photo of themselves , along with a story
