Steven's Story
Military
I left school to enlist in the US Navy. I enlisted in an advanced electronics program for 6 months of training in Chicago as a Gun Fire Controlman. This is a job profession working with Radars, Computers and Gun direction (pointing) Systems. Within 9 months following training I found my self visiting 18 different countries and biased on a Cruiser (type of ship) in San Diego, Ca. t to work in Norfolk, Va. as a civil servant conducting Technical repair assistance to the US Navy. This allowed me to stay in touch with training sailors in the art of Gun Fire Control operation, maintenance and repair. I found my self in the Gulf during the war more than once and I witnessed over 50 missiles being launched one evening from various US Naval ships. I now work as a contractor White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico operating and maintaining 6 Missile radar systems for the US Navy.
