Steven's Story
Life
Since LHS I went on to study Engineering at Tufts and Cooper Union, graduate studies in Engineering, Operation Research and Urban Planning at MIT and University of Arizona. Worked as Water Planner in Tucson, returned to NYC to work as Civil Engineer, lived and worked overseas in Jamaica and Honduras.
Married for 12 years and adopted a daughter from Colombia, Janina, born September 10, 1980.
Janina studied musical theater at Boston Conservatory and was awarded a degree from American Music and Theater Academy in New York. Got her Equity Card performing in Miss Saigon. She now sings, dances, cares for dogs, tours with Cirque de Masque and has a boyfriend who is a bona fide break dancer.
Remarried a Linden girl, Sylvia Smolensky, with two children of her own, Jessica (born 1980), a graduate of Hobart and Willian Smith Colleges in Environmental Sciences and Geology, and Adam (born 1983) a graduate Washington University Olin Business School in St. Louis. es Earth and Environmental Sciences in Westchester County, New York. Adam works in sales and Marketing for Arbitron in NYC.
I started Amarex, a Computer business, in 1979, built it into a reasonably successful communications and telecommunications company and sold it in 1999 to Comverse, a NASDAQ company. Completed my three year commitment to the buyer and retired.
Curently living in Pound Ridge, New York; Vail, Colorado and NYC spending time skiing, playing tennis and golf, gardening, working on my home, collecting art, fund raising for charities, traveling and generally enjoying myself. No plans to start another business or work at present.
Still a little of the Hippie left in me. Grew a ponytail after HS and cut it off a few years ago. However, instead of smoking joints and popping pills I find myself popping joints and taking pills.
Life has been and remains good. Too much to tell at one sitting. Drop me a line old friends - I'd love to hear from you.
Cheers,
Steve
