Steve's Story
Graduated in June 1963. Continued working at Vella's and started SRJC in Sept. When JFK was killed I decided to drop out of school and then joined the Air Force. Basic training in San Antonio, technical training in Biloxi Mississippi, then 1 year remote duty on Shemya Island, Alaska (third island from the far end). r Parks and Rec as a relief ranger at Sugar Loaf Ridge park, Vallejo's Adobe, and Jack London Home. When that was over I moved to Sacramento and worked for a finance company for 4 years, then got hired by the state to collect taxes, first in Stockton, then Sacramento, then Ventura, and back to Sacramento again, then for 7 1/2 more years as an IT Systems Administrator for the tax board legal department. Retired in 2008 with 35 years service.
