Steven's Story
As many of you know I lost my beautiful wife 20 years ago. I tried to stay in Alpena, but the Dr there tried his best to kill me. Five Valium a day made me think he was great, of course I thought the whole world was great. I came back to Royal Oak, and got the original house that Marie and I had bought. I had 3 major surgeries when I got down here in one year. There is one special care unit that has a list of who not to admit. I am number one one the list. They had me hooked to an alarm so if I got out of bed they would know. I punched there little buzzer for 25 minutes for a nurse, then went to the John on my own. They came in yelling and screaming I couldn't do that, I was not to go by myself. They had me hooked to an alarm which was loud, but I had proof from my roommate and his family. They informed me they would hook me up to the alarm every...Expand for more
time. I told them I am not a damned monkey and when that alarm goes off I am not going around looking for bananas.
The second care unit I had to go to, which had many young chicks 60-75 years of age were just thrilled at my tiedyed T shirt. Then they told me I had to string beads on a string. I tried to get out of that one, But you can make it for this nurse she likes you. You would never guess who was standing behind me. So like a good little first grader I strung my deads on a string. Oh everyone was just thrilled at my beautiful string of beads. I grabbed the young lady who was running the program, and informed her if she came out with a gold star for my forhead that I was going to take her in and give her a shower the same way she does me. I know she did it out of good hearted meanness, but she patted my head and told me that was a nice job.
