Steven's Story
After more than 30 years in Washington DC, I retired to Florida in 1998 where I do as little as possible. Travel as been an avid pursuit and I did a round the world trip the year I retired. Since then trips have included Greece, China, Egypt, Antarctica, and Eastern Europe. Pending trips include a cruise around the British Isles ending up in Paris and a South African adventure in 2009. Spain, Australia, New Zealand, are high on the wish list.
Researching my ancestry and taking care of my wonderful children -- Bosco and Roxie both Boston Terriers, working out and trying to stay healthy are other main activities. While I pretty much left politics and government behind me after all those years in the thick of it, I work the polls for my county and still follow things more closely than most. I have one remaining consulting client that still calls for some help and summons me back to DC now and then. When I go up there I try to do all the tourist things I never did when I lived there for so long.
I find myself in Michigan from time to time. My mother is still there and doing well in spite of being in her mid 90s and my brother, Chris lives there as well. I haven't been able to see a Michigan football game in person for many years unfortunately, but I was able to go to Orlando on New Years Day 2008 to see us beat Florida badly in the bowl game.
