Sue's Story
Hi.
I'm not sure what to write here, but I'll wing it. After graduation I married and had a beautiful daughter, Jill, who is now 31 and going to school for nursing. I got divorced and soon afterwards I joined the Southfield Police Department. I met my current husband at work, he was also and officer. We have been married since 1989. I have been a sergeant since 1997, and have worked road patrol for a few years and the Detective Bureau for 4 years, and have been retired since 2009, the same day My husband retired from the K9 unit and department He has had 2 K-9s, awesome dogs. Although his K9 Partners are in doggie heaven we have a really awesome white German Shepherd.
We have a 10 acre horse farm that takes a lot of work and committment. I used to show my quarter horse paint mare, Lady, in Dressage shows. Then I went the the Netherlands and bought a real Dutch Dressage horse. After one awesome season of ribbons, my neck was hurting pretty bad. Went to Dr. ...Expand for more
And found out I have 4 bulging discs from all my police car crashes, fights, rams, and horse accidents over the years. So, to my dismay. Must sell my beautiful horse. My husband loves to go on carriage rides with his huge Belgian, Danny. (update, Danny passed away.) We also have other horses that live with us. We live across the street from thousands of acres of state land to play on.
We are both working with dogs in our own companies. He trains all kinds of shepherds for police, corporate security, personal protection. I have 5 k9 teams that patrol a high risk apt complex in the Detroit area.
We also have a house on Bois Blanc Island on Lake Huron, next to Mackinac Island. We boat quite a bit, mostly taking our guests over to Mackinac Island. We love sitting on the back porch looking across the water at the freighters, and having bonfires in the yard, looking at thousands of stars in the Up North sky.
Well, short and sweet.
Take care and God bless,
Sue
