Sue's Story
It's 2008 and I'm doing great!! Married to Mitch for 18 years, we've lived in San Clemente, CA since 1989. We have two great kids, Nico (17) and Jake (14), two cats (Kirby & Cheeto) and one dog (the ferocious 13-pound Rocky!).
Life's been good. I've been able to become very involved in the community, and was elected to serve on the San Clemente City Council in 1998. After two terms as Mayor, in 2000 and 2004, and 8 years of total service, I opted not to run for reelection last year. My current focus is on my family, and making sure the boys make it successfully through high school and on to college (it seems SO much more complicated...Expand for more
than when we were in school!!).
In the meantime, much of my free time is devoted to charity and non-profit work both locally and regionally (i.e. lots of work for no pay : > ). Completed a 1,000 mile walk last year for our local senior center (great way to stay in shape for a good cause), and currently chair the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board. My husband is a partner in a real estate investment and management firm, and we're all praying for the commercial real estate market to remain relatively strong.
