Sue's Story
Life
John(class of '66) & I will be married 36 years in February 2006. We have eight children. Seven daughters, one son. The older four are married to four wonderful men, and we are expecting our tenth grandchild in December! Andrea(class of '86) & Jorge Orozco(they live in Terre Haute) have three sons, Elena(class of '90) & Scott Dickinson(they live in Orland Park, IL) have one son and a baby due in December. Their daughter is in Heaven with Jesus. Amy(class of '95) & Frank Freitas(they live in Winfield) have a daughter and a son, and Katherine & Mark Alexander(they live in Demotte)(both class of '99) have two daughters. Jennifer(class of '01), Rachel(class of '03,a Junior Ball State), Alison(class of '05,a Freshman at Purdue Calumet), and Juan(A Junior at Calumet) are still at home. Our children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren are our pride and joy!
I posted pictures, but they are not very clear, and I'm not sure how to correct that! The "then" picture is actually a now picture my children surprised John & me with for Mothers and Fathers day combined. Alison graduated from Calumet this year, and they all met at Picture People in the morning, took the picture & had it framed & on the wall before we got back from graduation! What a wonderful surprise!
John(As he was known in high school. At work, he's known as Juan) is working at Purdue Calumet, and for now, I'm working at home. We still live in Ross, and our children have all gone to Calumet. Actually, when Juan graduates, we will have had children in this school system for 34 consecutive years!
I am very Blessed with a wonderful family, and looking forward to the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Update 12-18-2005:
Elena and Scott Blessed us with another grandson on December 7th, which would have been my parents 61st wedding anniversary if they were still with us. All are doing fine. What a handsome little doll he is!

and Mark of another grandchild due in August! Our family just keeps growing! We are thrilled!

Katherine and Mark had their boy August 3 2006. Such a cutie! Like his dad!
John and I were Blessed with our 12th grandchild on January 28, 2007. Our daughter Rachel and her then fiancee had a boy. Another little cutie!
Rachel and Donald Yates were married yesterday in Indianapolis. A beautiful ceremony(Donald's Dad married them) with all our family there, we took up half of the beautiful little church! Rachel and Donald live in Indianapolis, and she will finish her schooling there.
Our son Juan will be graduating June 10, 2007 from Calumet.
He is co-Valedictorian, and we are so proud of him! The last of ALL the Varney and Flores families to graduate from Calumet. How fitting to go out on top!!
Again I would like to say John and I are truly Blessed. What A wonderful family we have! Praise the Lord!

John started working for BP in Whiting in June. Finally, people who truly believe in him. This is God's Handiwork. Very much an answer to prayers.
We moved Juan down to IUPUI in Indianapolis. last week. He is a direct admit to the Kelly School of Business. I miss him. We still have Alison and Jennifer living at home, but I know the time is coming when it will be just John and me. Mixed feelings about that. I miss the kids, but I do love the quiet, and the alone time with John.

I cannot pick a chapter in the Bible and quote scriptures to you. I do not even regularly go to Church. Yet I know that I know that I know Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I will praise Him all the days of my life, and give Him the Glory for all that He is. He is the Alpha and the Omega. My God, my Father has Blessed me so. Even in my darkest times,I may not feel Him, I know He is there with me. Hallelujah.
