Life
Forty+ years...it amazes me that it has been so long since we were all waiting to graduate and go out into the world and make it OURS! Some of us probably did that. Others, like myself, probably settled into jobs, marriage, kids, divorce, etc.
I went right to work in a Radiologist's office learning how to take xrays and being a Girl Friday. Had to drive the doctors' very own brand-new Jeep Waggoneer to take xrays and reports to Portland area clinics...since I'd just gotten my license two weeks before we graduated, I was scared to death of hurting his car! Wouldn't you know? A lady changed lanes right into his car while I was at a red light! That's pretty much the blueprint of how things continued...
I have moved away from Portland, my birthplace, and live in Washington. Our town is small and beautiful. I've worked in doctors offices, at Doernbecher, and even drove school bus for David Douglas for ten years! The last seven years were devoted to giving excellent Customer Service to medical in...Expand for more
surance members and providers in downtown Portland. Not much call for that up here.
I have five beautiful grandchildren -what grandchildren are NOT beautiful???? The oldest of them is 23 (egads!!) and the youngest is nine. My son lives in Wilsonville and is homeschooling his nine year old son. My other children have drifted away and are on their own but the grandchildren remain loving and close.
Now I live in a menagerie - my partner and I have two dogs (a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Chocolate Lab Mix, and a Chihuhua/MinPin mix), two cats, a gazillion stray outdoor cats and a Moloccan Peach Cockatoo). Our animals are sweet, spoiled, and great company.
So, Bio in a nutshell. Nothing spectacular, nothing to be famous for. I have lived my life the best way I knew how, and learned a lot along the way. Sinatra said, 'Regrets, I've had a few...' and I bet most of us could sing that right along with him. The important thing is to have learned and improved - and that's where I have found my success.
