Susan's Story
Life
After graduation I married Donald Chamberlain on December 31st 1966 and moved to Sayre PA. While living there I gave birth to three beautiful babies. My life was very full doing the family things. My first two babies were 11 months apart and my third one was 3 years later. I enjoyed keeping up with their schooling.
I also had a cleaning service called "SFC Cleaning" , as well as a sewing and mending business out of my home.
After 29 years the children were gone from the nest and Donald and I were on our own. In 1995 we sold our home and moved to Florida. Donald had taken an early retirement from the Ingersoll Rand Plant in Athens,PA. In 1996 we found out that Donald had Alzheimers. We moved back north in 1998 so I could get help from the family in caring for him. He is now in Nursing Home care and I visit him as often as possible. Life must go on and I'm trying to take care of myself in the best way I can.
I live in Owego and my husband is now in the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens Pa. He is in the final stages of alzheimers. ...Expand for more
He no longer knows who the family members are including myself. You never know how life will go but if we make the best of it we may make some one else's life easier as well as our own in the end.
I recently became a Great Grandmother to a beautiful baby boy. He was born June 10,2006 at Lordes Hospital. He has lots of red hair as Mom and Dad are both redheads. The family still grows and there is happiness ahead.
Up date: my husband passed away January 14,2008. I moved back to Florida thinking I could pickup my life again there. While I was in Florida I suffered a stoke . My daughter Dawn and her family moved down to help me out. We then decided to move back up noth and I came back to Owego in 2011. I have lived in the same place since my move back here.
My most recent news is the birth of another Grest Grandson born November 9,2015 weighing 10 lbs. 8 ozs. He's a big boy and looks like his Dad. My family has grown both with the new birth as well as my older Grandchildren graduating from college and finding jobs in the paths they chose.
