Susan's Story
Brief synopsis (Would Mr. Burrell (sp?) say that that is redundant?) of the last almost 54 years:
Went to Gettysburg College, got commissioned in the Army at graduation with the intent of using the GI Bill for Law School. Met a really wonderful guy named Ben Kellom in Korea in 1971. Got married, became one of the first female Military Police Officers, forgot about Law School When Ben retired in '81 we decided to stay in Virginia and I got out of the Army..
He's given me four step-children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

ral Boar.d. We have two or three elections a year and insure that we provide impartial results. For the past 35 years, I've basically split my time between the Alexandria Human Rights Commission and the Alexandria Commission for Women. Right now I'm on the Human Rights Commission and the Friends of the Commission for Women, which is the fundraising organization for the Commission. I'm also a member of the Board of Healthy Families Alexandria, whic.h works to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Ben and I have had to slow down on travel the last few years, but we are hoping to get moving soon.
Added 11 Oct 2022 -- My wonderful Ben died last year, on 10 Sep 2021, from pancreatic cancer. It's been really hard. We had a wonderful fun and exciting 47 years of marriage and he had 90 years of extremely happy, meaningful and very productive life. I really miss him.
