Susan's Story
Hi,
I retired January 19, 2007 as the VP Quality Management/Regulatory Affairs (I'm an RN) at a hospital in South Florida. I have been married to my second husband for 25 years and we previously lived in Coral Springs, FL. We have a blended family of three sons, two daughters and eleven grandchildren. I have two sons from my first marriage; one in East Tennessee (one grandaughter and one great-grandson) and one in the Seattle, WA. area (one grandaughter and two grandsons and one great-grandson). My husband had two daughters and two sons from his first marriage with eight grandchildren and 6 great-granddaughters and one great-grandson). My stepson passed away in May 2006 at 42 from cancer and in August 2007 my 24 year old step-grandaughte...Expand for more
r was killed in a car accident. We have wonderful families and that has helped us continue on as well as many heartwarming memories.
Jim and I spend a week each Sept. on the Florida west coast at the beach and a week each Nov. in the North Georgia mountains with my son and his wife and Jim's daughter and husband. Some of our favorite vacations have been Ireland, long cruises and we love Sedona, Arizona.
2013 update - We enjoyed our mountain vacations so much, we moved to Tellico Village in Loudon, TN. May 31, 2013. We also very much appreciate the lower property taxes and the much lower costs of home insurance. We are in a beautiful area about 25 miles southwest of Knoxville and are looking forward to experiencing change of seasons again.
