Susan's Story
I have lived in Northern California for 14 years.
I've been married for 26 years.
I have three kids; my son is almost 25 & lives in San Diego, my older daughter is 23, and is currently living at home. Our younger daughter is 15, loves to play soccer & basketball, read and write, play video games and hang out with her friends. So far she still likes hanging out with us & enjoys going on trips with us (as long as she has plenty of books, dvd's, etc.)
My husband is a Pastor & I work for a catering co. part-time & occasionally work for a company that does construction clean-up for State funded projects.
I go to Mexico (Baja) every January with our youth group and to Mazatlan in the summer (with a non-profit foundation) to build houses. It is probably the highlights of my year. I love the idea of doing something that will change peoples lives & remain long after you have gone. I am always reminded of how much I have in my life & also to enjoy the simple things in...Expand for more
life. It last about 4 to 6 weeks after I get back, and then my intolerance of mankind (especially on the freeway) seems to creep back into my life. LOL!
I love to travel and see new places. Even though I am terrified of flying & have to be heavily medicated. I don't want to miss out on experiencing all of the history, cultures and beauty that is here in the states & other countries. I would love to live in the UK for a while. I went to England once and loved it and recently got back from Scotland. It was definitely worth the torture of flying for 10 - 12 hours
My new hobby is photography (I know...me & every other digital camera owner!). I take so many pictures that sometimes my kids get embarrassed (& sometimes I do it on purpose just to embarrass them; I call it parental pay-back for all the wear & tear & gray hairs).
It was great reconnecting with everyone at our 30th reunion. Hopefully we can get together again, soon.
