Susan's Story
Life
Hi everyone!!! I saw some of you at the 20th; I was pregnant with my third child, Natanyah! Things have changed some since then; really, they've changed ALOT! I was married for 25 years but now am divorced and enjoying the single life. I had one more child before the split, a daughter, Ketsiyah, who is an absolute blessing!! So that makes 3 girls and 1 boy. The two oldest (Shoshannah: 25 and Josiah: 22) are in the Army now and currently deployed to Iraq for a second time. Both graduated in 2003 with their AA's from Bakersfield College; we attended together. I'm currently at Koinonia Institute finishing up my degree and will go on to get my masters and eventually a PhD in biblical studies. I'm still homeschooling (Natanyah: 12 and Ketsiyah: 8) and we have a family business taking care of horses at the stable where we board our two horses. Between bein' a mommy, work, and a full time schedule of classes, I'm pretty busy but not too busy to get my dance on at a club now and again!!! I love life and thank God for all that He's given me!! I'm truly blessed! I'd love to hear from any and all of you! If we weren't really friends in high school, maybe we can be friends now! And somebody tell Luana to email me!! hehehe!!
College
I was a kinesiology/nutrition major, but, three classes shy of my degree, I switched directions. I'm still a full time student, now I'm studying my first love--biblical studies, through Koinonia Institute and am TA'ing there. I'll probably still get the degree in kinesiology/nutrition, someday, but for now, I'm totally enjoying my studies!!
Workplace
I love my job! We have a family business taking care of horses at the stable where we board our own two horses. I have the best co-workers (my daughters) and make my own hours; it's great!
Military
Shoshannah and Josiah have been in the Army for over 4 years now and they love it! They both want to stay in for the 20 and retire with full benefits. As of this date, they are both deployed to Iraq for a second time. Shoshannah is an Army firefighter, and Josiah is Army Airborne Infantry.
I'm extremely proud of both of them!! They are such fine people; they are my best friends and heroes!

eived their AA's at a young age; Josiah was 16 and Shoshi was 19, and then they promptly joined the military. Now, they are both going to go Green to Gold as soon as they get back to the states. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's going back to school to get their BA's and then become an officer. The Army pays for it all, and they are still active duty. Both of them are soon to be NCO's before they re-deploy home.
Update:
Shoshannah is now medically retired from the Army as of August 22, 2008. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April '08 after exhibiting many symptoms during her last deployment. Currently, I have her on a diet specific to MS which means no gluten, dairy, or legumes, and she is doing very well! She is a lifeguard/swim coach at Bakersfield College, riding her horse, and schooling horses and riders. She's doing very well on the diet!
Josiah is now an officer--2nd Lieutenant, and is the Commander for several units at the ripe ol' age of 22! lol!!! He'll be leaving to go to Fort Benning in January '09, for 9 months of infantry officer training and Ranger School.
Natanyah is 14 and a sophomore at Bakersfield College! (Yes, you read right--14! chalk it up to homeschooling! haha!) She thought she wanted to be a doctor, but now she's goin' for Physical Education. She finds that she really enjoys it and likes to help others get in shape! She's a cheerleader and will be trying out for the College Squad in March. Since school has gotten to be so intense, she has let go of her business--Natanyahs's Manure Cure--which was taking up a lot of her time, but still enjoys riding her horse often! She hasn't had any new auditions since the Walmart commercial, but we found out that LA Casting has an old pic of her that we are updating today! So you may see her in something other than the Nissan commercial and Jericho soon!
Ketisyah, my sweet baby, is growing into a lovely young girl who will soon be in double digits! She's gonna turn 10 next year! My babyyyyyy! <smile!> She is wise and she is smart! She's very loving and helpful! I'm sooo thankful for her!
Thank you, LORD, for all these amazing children! And bless all those friends who read this update!
