Susan's Story
I am now 71As of December.! Wow, I am not even in a panic , it sure as hell beats the alternative..:) I have been married and divorced twice. I gathered the nerve and married again(some people never learn). We were married 15 yrs . He died from injuries from a motorcycle accident. After four months in Nuro ICU. NO, HE WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET! So please dear friends if you ride wear a helmet. I am not married. I have a special guy, been together 16 years now.
I am not working now. I did Social Work for years.I worked for Tolstoy Foundation I resettled political refugees in the 80s. I was Assistant Director for the south east. It was the most fullfilling work I have ever done. It started out as volunteer work ,after a nun asked me to help out some famlies from different countries. I have always felt God was just getting me ready for the future. I was getting divorced,My daughter Anastasia was going to school . When the office closed in late 80s,I was offered a job in NY. That was not for me,I had my mom living with me and a home here. I didn't want my daughter growing up in NY.
I went into customer service for a cable company, that was just starting to grow here. I went through a health crisis and after 11 years at that company had to stop working.I am doing pretty well now. I do the things I am supposed to and keep my stress to a minimum.(at least what we can control in life).

bies. I am more comfortable with myself then anytime in my life.
Some of you know, but for others I was adopted when I was only a few days old. I was born here in Spartanburg, SC . My birth mother passed at 88 years old . My three half siblings never mentioned me in my mom’s obituary. However friends that knew I was not a secret anymore let it be known I was the oldest daughter. She was a good woman from the mountains of Tennessee. Life is good, I am blessed. My birth mom was very young and could not read or write. My birth father was 62 when I was born. One might say he was a man of many talents. He was one of eleven children the seventh brother of seven brothers. The family ran a sawmill, The Appalachian Taxi Co, I found out through Ancestry he and his brother’s were known for the art of moonshinersrs The family was among some of the most well off during hard times. My birth father died in his late eighties. He had four biological children with his wife and my last sister on his side died at 102 .These are the stories America was built on. I was adopted by a great mama and daddy and had the blessing of knowing my past and having a happy, memorable childhood.
Please know I cherish my time in Roseland,Willy's and old friends. I invite you to write, I love hearing from all of you. I really do think of you!Hugs to all. This is a new pic taken Jan 2021 . So here I am at 68
